The world of electric cars is constantly evolving, and Tesla, a leader in this field, has just made a major announcement: the increase in prices for its Model Y, as well as the introduction of a new Long Range Propulsion version, directly competing with models like the Renault Scénic.
Tesla Model Y Price Increase
Tesla has announced a price increase for its popular electric SUV, the Model Y. The increase is attributed to a variety of factors, including material cost inflation and growing demand for electric vehicles. Starting at $44,990, the Model Y remains an attractive choice for consumers looking for a spacious and capable electric vehicle.
Introduction of the long-range propulsion version
In addition to the price increase, Tesla has also introduced a new version of the Model Y: the Long Range RWD version. This new configuration offers an increased range of 600 km and improved performance with a 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds, thanks to the larger battery. With this new option, Tesla aims to meet the needs of drivers who are looking for maximum range and optimal efficiency.
Competition with the Renault Scénic E-tech
This new version of the Tesla Model Y directly competes with well-established models on the market, but especially with the new Renault Scénic E-tech. They are now at the same price, bonus deducted, of €42,990 for the 'long range' versions. The differences will be in design, autonomy (25 km more for the Scénic) and performance (only 220 hp for the Scénic against around 300 for the TMY).
The price increase of the Tesla Model Y and the introduction of the long-range rear-wheel drive version demonstrate Tesla's continued commitment to innovating in the electric car sector, especially in the European market. With this new offering, Tesla seeks to attract a wider audience and consolidate its leadership position in the electric vehicle market.
