Tesla's spring 2025 update brings a series of notable improvements, enhancing the safety, comfort, and efficiency of the brand's vehicles.
🧠 New features and improvements
🔋 Battery preconditioning for third-party fast chargers
Tesla is expanding automatic battery preconditioning to third-party fast charging stations. By setting a station as a destination in GPS, the vehicle automatically adjusts the battery temperature, optimizing charging even outside the Tesla Supercharger network.
🚨 Audible alert for rear cross traffic
An audible alert now alerts vehicles or pedestrians when reversing. This option improves safety and can be enabled or disabled in the settings.
📱 Hands-free trunk release for Android
Android users with an Ultra Wideband (UWB) -enabled smartphone can now automatically open the trunk or frunk. Already available on iPhone, this feature is now available on the Model 3 Highland, 2025 Model Y, 2021-up Model S/X, and the Cybertruck.
🌦️ Enhanced weather information on the route
Navigation now displays weather conditions not only at the destination, but also along the route, allowing for better trip planning.
🎮 Improved in-car entertainment
The game "The Battle of Polytopia" receives an update to offer an enriched gaming experience to passengers.
🚗 Specifics for Model S and X
Model S and X now feature blind spot monitoring via camera feedback on the driver display. This feature is not available on Model 3 and Model Y, which do not have a display behind the steering wheel.
🛠️ Critical Power Steering Update
Tesla has fixed a power steering bug affecting some 2023 Model 3 and Model Y models. The bug, caused by an electrical overload, could disable the assist at low speeds. The update was deployed remotely, without a workshop visit.
